Avoid The Social Media Madness

Have we all gone social media mad?

Many people are running around the social networking sites frantically trying to figure out how to use the internet to build a home based business and are spending FAR to much time being truly unproductive.

From following as many people as they can on Twitter and vice versa, to adding as many friends as they can on Facebook and subscribers on YouTube, it seems that everyone has totally flipped out when it comes to these sites and have caught Social Media madness!

Its like a frenzy that one can imagine would have been similar in the gold rush days when every man and his dog rushed out to the hills in search of gold, and the only ones who REALLY made any money were the merchants of the gold digging tools and the few lucky ones who struck it rich.

And although I am just as guilty as the next person for actively building my followings and subscribers, I have kept my head on right and not neglected my main reason for doing all of this… building my network marketing business.

I am willing to bet that just like me, you also have a product that you represent and are wanting to find reps to join into your business with you so you can sell more of it!

But my question is this…, how many hours a day are you actively selling your products compared with the amount of hours you are spending twittering around on the internet?

Because while everyone has RUSHED into social networking to strike it rich, others have continued to work their business using the traditional methods AS WELL, and have proceeded with a much more levelled approach.

Social Media sites can be a BIG trap in terms of the time it can rob you of each day when you really should have spent that time speaking to people about your business.

So my plan is this… No matter what I do, I ALWAYS make it a BIG DEAL to talk to 10 people EVERY day about my products and my business, and it is for that reason that I am still able to build a steady residual income and sell my companies products.

You see, no matter how many followers you have, if nobody is buying your company’s products, you DO NOT HAVE A BUSINESS!

With everything available online these days, getting lost for hours on end is a BIG problem so remember to keep this in mind… no matter what… talk to 10 people a day about your main business, because at the end of the day, you want to be building that residual, walk way income and never have to rely on a boss again!

And it doesn’t have to take that long to move your company’s products and build a client group.

Simply make a plan to set aside 80% of your business time each day devoted to building your main business and the other 20% on social media networking sites.

I think that the 80/20 rule applys well here and is a good formula for any network marketing business owner to apply to maximize the time available for building a successful home based business.

Remember time is one of your most precious resources and you need to spend it wisely.
